Relocating to Boca Raton: A Practical 90-Day Checklist

Relocations go smoothly when they are sequenced. Here is the timeline we use with clients moving to Boca Raton from out of state or abroad.

Days 1–30: Discovery

Define budget, timeline, work location, school needs, and lifestyle priorities. Take a structured discovery trip covering three to five shortlisted communities in a single visit. Decide whether to buy immediately or rent first while you learn the city.

Days 31–60: Contract and Diligence

Secure financing or prepare proof of funds, write and negotiate the offer, complete inspections, obtain insurance quotes, and submit HOA or club applications early — approvals are frequently the long pole in the timeline.

Days 61–90: Move and Settle

Close, move, and get established.

  • Transfer utilities, internet, and security monitoring
  • Florida driver's license, vehicle registration, and voter registration
  • File for homestead exemption if this is your primary residence
  • School enrollment and records transfer
  • Introductions to physicians, clubs, designers, and contractors
